My Dad , Freeman Stauffer, (Ole Uncle
Josh), passed away peacefully on Sept. 1st 2010. He is now with the King
of Kings and Lord of Lords.
2 Corinthians 5:7-9
7 For we walk
by faith, not by sight.
8 We are
confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from
the body and to be present with the Lord.
9
Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent,
to be well pleasing to Him.
Dad
was born on May 30th, 1931. He was 79 yrs old. He was
a charter member of the Wasepis which began in 1974. His
body is buried at the Nottawa Cemetery, Nottawa, MI.
I'll get his obituary on the web site soon.
His favorite verse was
Isaiah 40:31
31 But those who wait on the
LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Our new recording, Come & Dine, is now available. It was
recorded in our own WBGS studio and was mixed down at the Bill Monroe Bluegrass
Festival in Bean Blossom, IN. We Pray it will be a blessing to many.
We now have 2
former Gibson Guitar Corp. employees in our group.
Aaron Cowles and Pat Mertaugh. They are
wonderful singers and musicians. We now have 3 banjo
players, (one plays claw hammer style), 1 guitar player,
(Aaron is excellent at the thumb-style picking), 2
fiddle players (sometimes twin fiddles are in order), 2 dobro players, an excellent mandolin player, and a fantastic
(doghouse) bass player, and all are wonderful Christians.
I've been playing my
Father's Dobro on occasion, doing some of the songs that He
did thru 30 some years of ministy. Please continue to pray
for the Wasepi's, past and present.
In
John 12:32 Jesus said:
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all
men unto me.
Try the Wimpy Player that has been installed. If you
can't see it be sure and refresh this page in your browser.
It is also on the Recordings page.
Thanks,
Jack
